A landmark wedding venue standing in the gateway of the Texas Hill Country.

Housed in an enduring single room church in Menard, Texas on the western edge of the Texas Hill Country, The Historic 1904 is a premiere wedding venue soon to be unveiled for the first time. Accommodating up to 60 guests, the church and reception hall are perfectly fashioned to help create a sense of intimacy and beauty for you and yours on the most significant of occasions. With our three primary wedding packages, we can help craft the ceremony of your dreams, and with additional options facilitating showers, portraits, and gatherings, we can serve your vision beyond the nuptials.

Built in 1904 by Texas Christian University to serve as a multi-denominational gathering space for the community of Menardville—which six years later changed its name to Menard—our 117 year-old church is one of only four in the entire United States built in its distinct architectural style. Architecture students from the University of Texas at Austin have examined its slanted theater style flooring, the horizontal eaves located on its face, and the rear apse. Located just a couple of blocks from the San Saba River, traveling seminary students and the church's full-time female pastor baptized the faithful in the river itself. A monument of history, devotion, and hope—our venue is ready to serve as a similar marker in the lives of you and yours.
